Himalayan Salt Cooking
The official launch of Himalayan Salt Cooking by the Salty Sistas was a runaway success as SaltPur, the President Hotel Cape Town, Pierre Jourdan MCC, Haute Cabrière wines and S. Pellegrino mineral water came together to create an of exquisite evening of pink salt and fine beverage feasting.
Salt has been part of human history for thousands of years and has become a key ingredient in the contemporary human diet. Nowadays, the most common salt to be found is white table salt – a refined and bleached salt produced from evaporated seawater; whereas pink Himalayan crystal salt – becoming increasingly popular – is believed to be the purest form of salt found on earth. It doesn’t undergo a refinement process and has been preserved by volcanic lava and ice for millennia, protecting it from modern day pollutants.
Liezel Maree, Salty Sistas Himalayan Salt Cooking author and SaltPur Cape Town owner says: “The health benefits of using Himalayan crystal salt are many.
